Over the last few years, I’ve been running into Owen Taylor of Truelove Seeds at farming conferences.
Owen uses the terms Seed Keeping and Seed Keepers rather than Seed Saving and Seed Savers. He grounds his seed work in the stories that come with the seeds.
This approach to seeds has encouraged me to explore the role that stories play in my own seed work and to think of myself as a Seed Keeper. (I’ve been similarly influenced by the work of Rowen White of Sierra Seeds.)
I’ve always left my exchanges with Owen wanting to hear more seed stories.
Now I have the chance. And so do you!
Owen and his partner Chris Bolden Newsome have launched a podcast that dives deep into these stories.
It is called Seeds and Their People. It’s available on all the podcast apps.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
