These are the days of bins taking over the seed office.
Bins full of threshed seed – mostly clean seed – that we want to keep safe from mice and accidents.
Bins of seed waiting on a germination test before moving to the bulk storage room.
Bins that take a lot of place in this room dedicated to other purposes. This room is where we also pull seed rack orders. And though we’re not shipping rack orders right now, we are trying to get the room ready for the busy days coming sooner than we might like.
Bins of embodied history – just the latest stop for these seeds, a moment in their long story through so many hands – the moment where it is our job to take care of them before they move on to other hands.
Hmmm, should I be calling these buckets rather than bins?
