Last year, I had a favourite sunflower. I watched it at every stage through the growing season and through the winter. And the stalk lingered long into a second year.
It’s been hard to find a new favourite flower this year. Much harder than I expected.
There was a mullein that I really liked. But I’m not sure it was this summer’s favourite flower.
This week I came upon this zinnia and for some reason it really struck me.
Can a bloom that lasts a week or so be your favourite flower?
I’ll be looking to see if the next blooms bring me as much joy.
