These eggplants were sitting on their plants for the last few months.
And now that frost can be a thing, we clipped them from their plants and brought them to wait some more in a tunnel.
These eggplants wouldn’t make for very good eating.
But hopefully they will make for good seed.
All that waiting around is to give the seed a chance to finish maturing before we extract it from the fruit.
In the past, we’ve had some eggplant seed germination challenges.
The advice from other seed growers was to let them mature extra long (also to only leave a few fruit per plant to go to seed.)
And that advice has proven to be great advice.
So let us be as patient

for its seed to mature
